When the world corrupted the meaning of sex, we stood by the Church.

When the world destroyed the sacramentality of marriage, we stood by the Church.

When the world redefined man and woman, we stood by the Church.

When the world abandoned the sanctity of life, we stood by the Church,

But alas, many of our Shepherds would not stand by us.

I will always submit fully to the authority of the Church, and I will be loyal to the Chair of Peter and whoever sits upon it till my dying breath.

But where is the Church as we are forced to compromise on our beliefs in order to earn a living?

Persecution we can take, and taking on suffering is the most Catholic thing we can do.

But can we really say we are an imitation of Christ if we’re forced to compromise on our beliefs by having to stay silent?

How do we speak up when our shepherds won’t even have our back?

Perhaps this is all a reminder to all of us, that truly, this world is thy ship and not thy home.

Disclaimer: this is based on my personal life experience and my opinion based on how I am feeling.
While the overturn of roe vs. wade is a victory, we lay Catholics are the ones who will have to suffer the backlash.
