“Perhaps if you pray the rosary enough,
you’ll start to see life through rose-coloured glasses.”

A brief overview of my life.

2012
The Musician
When I was 12, I got this wild idea to start making music videos of myself playing pop songs on a traditional Chinese instrument called the Erhu. At this stage, some would say that I also displayed a talent for creative writing.

Music Videos
My secondary school days were mostly spent turning myself into a one-man-band, learning the ins and outs of how to produce a music video. This period of my life have me plenty of opportunities to exercise my creative muscles. I also started to take an interest in poetry, and took my creative writing to the next level.

2017
Freelancing & Politics.
In 2017, I went through an existential crisis that led me to discover American Conservatism. This exposed me to many new ideas and ways of thinking that helped me to make sense of the values I was raised with. At this time, I also started putting the skills I had developed over the years to use by freelancing as a video producer and copywriter.

2018
The Entrepreneur.
In 2018, I started to take an interest in entrepreneurship, in particular, the idea of starting a Digital Marketing Agency, and so I went under the mentorship of agency expert Iman Gadzhi. While my business venture led me to specialise in more creative fields, I learnt many important skills that come with running a business, such as how to streamline processes, creating systems, and sales. This was also a period where I started to expand my skillset to include web design, photography, and Facebook Ads in order to increase my client prospects.

2019
The internship.
In 2019, I took on an internship with the BMW Group handling communications across the APAC region for the IT Tech Office in Singapore. This was a valuable opportunity for me to understand the corporate world and experience being on the client-end of the business relationship as I worked with external vendors on various communications projects, as well as the world of UX Design, Design Thinking, and Agile Workflows.

2020
Los Angeles.
In 2020, my entire life changed when the conservative organisation PragerU flew me out to their office in Los Angeles under their student ambassador program. I got to meet my heroes in conservative journalism and provided me with many networking opportunities. The year as a whole was definitely an intellectually and spiritually formative period that pushed me to look into what I truly believe when it came to my world views as well as my faith.

2021
Back to my roots.
While 2020 was an exciting year to be heavily involved in the drama of political discourse, I soon grew tired of the endless partisan narratives. 2021 was in many ways a time for new beginnings. Therefore, I made a decision to focus on what I'm truly passionate about, sharing my faith through this blog and my podcast, and honing my craft as a writer.

Minimalism?
A dream of mine had always been to be able to fit my whole life in a suitcase and travel wherever I wanted. I discovered minimalism and started exploring how it in many ways espoused Catholic values. I created the inventory/organisation App, "Auster" to promote a unique brand of "Catholic Minimalism".
