We hear a lot about having a “personal relationship” with Christ.
–
But what kind of relationship exactly?
–
There’s a reason why a husband’s love for his bride is meant to mirror Christ’s love for His Church, and it goes much deeper than Pastor Rick’s weak excuses to explain Ephesians 5:22 to his triggered feminist congregation.
–
See, Christ desires more than just a “personal relationship”, as you would have with your friends, siblings, or even your parents.
–
Rather, we are not only called, but MADE for INTIMACY with Christ.
–
When husbands are called to love their wives, they are called to give their entire selves up for them, to die for them.
–
Hence, the sexual act is not to be “contracepted”, but to be made as a total, full, gift of one’s entire self.
–
Christ did not contracept his sacrifice on the cross.
–
How lucky are we that Christ gives His entire self to us, Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity, in the most holy Eucharist?
–
We are truly called, and made, for more than just a personal relationship with Christ.
–
We are made for intimacy.
–
Are you friendzoning Christ?
